There has been disappointing news on the world scene in recent months. Scientists have announced that the 1.5°C “ceiling” for global temperature rise has already been reached, and the USA have pulled out of the Paris climate control treaty with a renewed commitment to fossil fuel use from President Trump.
Sadly, it seems that irreversible climate change is now inevitable and we are going to have to get used to living in a different world to that we once knew. But this doesn’t mean we should give up on our own individual efforts.
If it is too late to prevent change, then “damage limitation” is more vital than ever. The efforts we make to live responsibly ourselves will help control the amount of change and hopefully enable us to leave a planet which those who come after us can still thrive in and enjoy.
